What can you expect from me as your Equine Podiatrist?

First and foremost the purpose of my visits is to trim and balance your horse's feet, however equine podiatry is a whole horse approach to health from the hooves up. My training has provided me with the foundations to offer insights into managing your horse’s environment, gait analysis & nutrition and I can advise you on this if you wish.

With your permission I can work with other professionals who care for your horse.

I am a professional who places your horse's welfare at the centre of everything I do and your horse’s needs will always come first.

What am I not able to do as your Equine Podiatrist?

Whilst I am able to remove shoes if required, I am not a farrier and cannot put shoes on.       I can measure your horses feet for hoof boots and offer advice on fitting if required.

In accordance with the Veterinary Act, I am not able to offer diagnosis or carry out invasive procedures like ‘digging out’ hoof abscesses. As mentioned above, I can and am happy to work alongside your vet if needed, with your permission.

What do I expect from you as a client?

Providing a safe and secure space to carry out the trim.

Having your horse ready for when I arrive with clean feet that have been freshly picked out (your horse that is!)

Providing me with as much information as you can about your horse's history, health conditions, any behavioural traits and to keep me updated with any changes.

As your Equine Podiatrist, openness and communication are very important to me and I expect the same from my clients. Honesty is always the best policy!

If you have any queries or concerns between appointments please do feel free to call or send me a message.
